Events

Indiana Tech’s Career Center offers numerous events to connect our students with regional employers. If you would like to take part in our mock interviews, information tables, career exploration workshops, or site visits, please contact us and let us know.

Career Fairs

Tech hosts multiple career fairs each year on our Fort Wayne campus where you can connect with students and increase your organization’s visibility. Our typical schedule of career fairs:

  • Part-time Job and Internship Fair – early fall semester
  • Engineering and Computer Sciences Career Fair – spring semester
  • Business, Health, and Human Services Career Fair – spring semester

Mock Interviews

Engage with students in a structured interview setting to help them refine their skills while allowing you early access to top talent. Mock interviews are a valuable opportunity we offer students to practice and refine their interview skills in a supportive environment. We invite you to participate by volunteering as an interviewer. You’ll be provided with suggested interview questions and an evaluation form for each student you meet with. Mock interviews typically last 30 minutes and done virtually through Microsoft Teams.

Information Tables

An information table is a great way to connect directly with students and build awareness of your organization. We typically host info tables during students’ lunchtime in the dining hall of Andorfer Commons which is one of Tech’s busiest areas. Organizations are given a designated table in the cafeteria where they’re welcome to bring branded materials such as a banner, tablecloth, giveaways, or even treats like cookies to help draw interest. Students can stop by to learn more about your organization and your employment/volunteer opportunities. With a little personality and some proactive greetings, an info table can be a highly effective way to engage with a wide range of students and strengthen your campus presence.

Career Exploration Workshops

All first-year, on-campus students at Indiana Tech take University Experience (IIT 1000), a college success course that includes a career exploration activity called Career Compass which is led by the Career Center. As an employer or alum, we invite you to join a class session to guide a small group discussion (5-7 students) about the results of an activity from a prior class. A facilitator provides instructions and support throughout the activity. This event is a great way to connect with new Warriors, introduce them to your organization, and gain insight into their career goals while welcoming them to the Fort Wayne community.
