Director of Career Center

email: ADDeitrickson@indianatech.edu
office: Andorfer Commons, Room 229
I’m a first-generation college graduate originally from Toledo, Ohio. Right after high school, I joined the Army as a mechanic and was stationed overseas. Years later, I became an Army officer through the National Guard and worked in human resources, suicide prevention, sexual assault response, and civilian career services. In my mid-twenties and as a single mom, I enrolled in classes at a community college using my GI Bill benefits. I’ve since earned an associate degree in business, a BA in sociology and communication, two master’s degrees (social psychology and culture studies), a graduate certificate in community college leadership, and a PhD in educational leadership. I came to Indiana Tech about three years ago to direct the Career Center and now have almost 20 years of experience in higher education, including time at the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. I am very passionate about supporting students in ways that help them make informed decisions about their future while increasing their likelihood of upward economic mobility. That’s why I work hard to increase Tech’s students’ access to quality career development support.

Assistant Director for Career Development, Career Coach

email: RBSeiler@indianatech.edu
office: Andorfer Commons, Room 229
I’m a career coach here at Indiana Tech’s Career Center where I help students explore their options and design pathways to fulfilling careers. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from Indiana Tech and also hold certification as a Lark Song Certified Coach. My training includes art, play, nature, equine work, trauma-informed coaching, and team/group/systems training, all tools I love using to help people reach their goals. What I enjoy most about my work is getting to know students and helping them build the skills, strategies, and confidence they need to move forward. My own path at Tech, from student to staff, has given me a unique perspective on both the challenges and opportunities of college life. Outside of work, I enjoy gaming, both video games and tabletop adventures, cooking and exploring new foods from around the world (then recreating them at home), and diving into the world of technology, whether that’s learning about innovations or building computers.

Associate Director of Cooperative Education
phone: 260.344.4462
email: mjstorm@indianatech.edu
office: Andorfer Commons, Room 227
I serve as the Associate Director for Cooperative Education and have worked in Career Services since 2018, supporting students from associate to master’s programs as they prepare for life after college. I especially value hearing how experiential learning has given students a meaningful advantage in their career journeys. I hold a BA in Television Broadcasting from Pepperdine University and an MBA from Kettering University. Outside of work, I love sports of all kinds, especially when I am coaching my children and cheering on a good soccer match. I also enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes with my daughter, particularly when we get to enjoy the results.

Career Coach

email: JMCarlson@indianatech.edu
office: Andorfer Commons, Room 229
I’m a career coach in the Career Center. Before my work in higher education, I spent 20 years teaching in public schools, primarily as a high school English teacher. I graduated from Houghton College with a BA in English and Secondary Education and later earned a master’s in education from Indiana Wesleyan University. The best part of my role is walking alongside students as they figure out their strengths and discover what’s possible for their future. In my free time, you’ll probably find me with my family on our country property, tending my beehives, or working on something creative.

Career Coach – International Specialist
phone: 260.344.5470
email: ttmaru@indianatech.edu
office: Andorfer Commons, Room 229
I serve as a career coach and international specialist in the Career Center. Before joining Indiana Tech, I spent 20 years working in U.S. immigration and visa processing at the U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia. I also teach as an adjunct instructor in management tools for the U.S. Department of State Consular Affairs. I earned a BA in economics from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia and a master’s in leadership from the University of Greenwich in London. I’m passionate about helping students, energized by collaboration, and deeply committed to helping others unlock their potential through coaching. Outside of work, I love spending time with family, walking, swimming, and doing crafts.

Employer Relations & Program Coordinator

As the Employer Relations and Program Coordinator in the Career Center, I bring more than a decade of experience in employer relations, student development, and nonprofit services. My background in community engagement spans education, public health, and social services, where I have led initiatives in outreach, resource distribution, and program development. I am passionate about creating opportunities that connect students with meaningful career pathways, building strong employer partnerships, and designing engaging events that foster student success. I believe building relationships and connecting with others creates opportunities for success for everyone. I approach my work with the mindset that collaboration, trust, and authentic engagement are the keys to growth for students, employers, and communities alike. Beyond my professional role, I enjoy spending time with my family, bowling, and relaxing with a good movie or TV show.
